Now that Rihanna’s performance is in the books, who’s next?

Super Bowl performances are prestigious performances. The Super Bowl halftime show is part of the most-watched TV event of the year. With Rihanna’s halftime show performance I started to wonder who would be a good next performer.
Throughout the year I think it’s more than fair to say that the performances recently have been lacking what super bowl performances really give. i’m not saying that rihanna’s performance was not great, but compared to what we’ve been given before in the super bowl it wasn’t in my top 10.
When the performance started people quickly realized that she made a pregnancy announcement and that’s great. I think rhianna didn’t know she was pregnant at the time that she accepted the super bowl halftime show gig and she had many other plans to do with the show. The dancing and singing was amazing but she lacked the spectacle of what a super bowl performance really gives. In addition, everyone was expecting her to have guest appearances but she didn’t so that was also a let down.
Looking back at many other Super Bowl performances, I think we need someone who is willing to bring a spectacle that will have the audience hooked for 10 minutes.
to start us off strong Ariana Grande is a pop legend. She has had back to back successful albums and has amazing vocals that can wow the show.
She has so many songs that people know and love. You can say that you hate Ariana grande but you cannot tell me that you don’t know all of the words to “Thank U Next.” Many of her hits include collaborations with other giant stars, like Nicki Minaj, Lizzo, Childish Gambino, Future, Jessie J, Zedd, and Missy Elliot, which would make for a great halftime show.
Additionally, her tours are always amazing. there’s no doubt in my mind that she would bring an amazing performance.
This might come to a surprise but Queen has never performed in a halftime show. There’s many people that are still obsessed with Queen in all ages and this would simply be iconic.
The superbowl loves a good rock performance. They’ve shown it with past performers such as The Who, the Rolling Stones, Tom Petty, and more.
Queen is one of the most theatrical rock bands of all time which is why it’s such a surprise they’ve never taken the stage before.
Just picture an entire stadium stomping along to “We Will Rock You” — it’s a guaranteed fan favorite.
Following the rock theme Miley Cyrus is a great option for this kind of performance. While some people might say she’s too inappropriate, she sure knows how to put on a show.
Cyrus has always known how to get people talking, starting with her pole-dancing at the VMAs during “Party in the USA.” There’s always gonna be controversy on halftime shows, but she would bring the most noise.
Her performance with Dolly Parton during new years eve shows how she’s still amazing at what she does. it would be a crime to not put her in this list.
The “baby baby” boy has yet to perform in a super bowl. Everyone might hate to admit it, but Justin Bieber is still relevant and he’s yet to perform on the big stage.
Justin Bieber’s newest album “Justice” was nominated for eight grammys in 2022, including album of the year.
Besides his bops like “What Do U Mean,” “Sorry,” “Where Are U Now,” “Baby,” and “Boyfriend,” Bieber also has a solid stable of collaborators he could bring on stage with him — of course, Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee for “Despacito,” but also Chance the Rapper, Quavo, DJ Khaled and Lil Wayne for “I’m the One,” and “No Brainer,” The Kid Laroi for “Stay,” Daniel Caesar and Giveon for “Peaches,” and even Billie Eilish on their version of “Bad Guy.”
I hate to admit it but he gave a great performance. Plus, he would bring a great deal of an audience.
Last, but not least. A super bowl halftime performance that in my opinion needs to happen again, is an all country music one.
Garth Brooks, Faith Hill, Dixie Chicks, Underwood and Luke Bryan have all sung the National Anthem at the most watched television event of the year in the U.S., but since 1994 no halftime show has exclusively featured country acts.
Chris Stapleton performed the national anthem this year and so many people were moved. Country music has that effect on people.
A lot of people might disagree and say that country music is trash, but it’s a classic. Imagine having the most popular country singers in one stage singing together.
Just like the rock classic, there has to be another country filled super bowl.
Football loving fans expect a bigger spectacle next year. The super bowl is the best time of the year, and it deserves that recognition.
